Losing someone ...

This is a video of my Grandma talking about all kinds of things like how she met my grandfather and lots of other really cool stuff :)

I have posted about my grandmother in the recent past and the last post was about her declining in health.
I can't convey the depth of my sadness.
She passed away August 9th at 3:19 in the afternoon. I have never been with someone when they died and it was very hard. She had a rough morning and she seemed to be in pain. We called the nurse at around 7am to let them know what was happening and they came right over. She was really fighting something hard. We couldn't understand much of what she said. The nurse said that she was allot weaker and she may have days left. It was a struggle for my husband and I because the two days prior she had said go about your normal business "Im not going to die today" . Then that day I asked her how she felt and she said I'm going home today. She new in her heart that it was her last day here. I didn't know. I stayed with her and she couldn't seem to get comfortable. The nurses finally where able to get her where she could sleep. She then seemed more peaceful .

You see she had told me several things she wanted to happen before she died. She wanted to talk to everyone that may be there. She wanted to die peacefully in her sleep and she wanted me to hold her hand when she was dying.
That morning she talked to allot of her family that had already passed away and she went to town with my grandpa for lunch and she talked to Joe and I though we couldn't understand much. Then she went to sleep peacefully and when she took her last breath I was holding her hand.
She was a strong Christian lady and God honored her wishes. This has been a very difficult week and I am not sure how to get back to life without her. I miss her so much. My mind is all over the place. I can honestly say I loved her and took care of her the best I could .
I know I couldn't have done any of this without my husband Joe he was there through all of it the ups and downs the emotional roller coaster ride our life has been on over the last couple of months it has been very tough. I appreciate him more than he will ever know.
Also my family. My cousin Jonathan and his wife where there for us when we needed them the most and we will never be able to thank them enough for taking such good care of our boys during all of this. They are a true blessing.

Also my grandmothers closest friends Mrs. Dot and Mrs Vicky and Mrs.Helen and Mrs Anne they are all family and friends to us and we appreciate them so much.

Please continue to pray for my family and I as we try to adjust to all of this. The kids are coping very well and they start school next week.

Thanks for all the prayers calls and notes!

Here are a few pictures of one of the most special ladies I have ever known.

It is hard to say Goodbye

My Grandmother

It is very hard to say goodbye to someone that you love. I posted earlier about my Grandmother whom I take care of. She has been sick for a long time but she has been slowly declining in health since her birthday in July. The past couple of days she has really made a turn for the worse. People have told me that I need to tell her goodbye and let her know its ok to go. I wasn't ready for this. I was in denial I suppose of how bad she was getting. It has been such a roller coaster of emotions dealing with being her full-time caregiver.
I posted before about how she is like my Mom and Grandma all wrapped up into one person.Well the nurse came out today to check on her and she said that with all the things that are happening she see's that there is a significant decline.I was expecting the same explanation that this disease will be ups and downs and she will probably make another comeback and be around for a while.
I did not get that response. The Hospice Nurse let me know that she may only have a week or two at most and that she was almost certain she wouldn't make it till the 22nd of this month which is when school starts back for my boys.
So I had to kinda take it all in. I have been trying to prepare myself for the inevitable but it is difficult because we had no time frame and she was having such good days that I thought she may actually get better.
That was the hope that she would be around longer.

She was so weak when it came time to put her to bed tonight, I tucked her in as always and said I love you. She replied "I love you too!" I said Grandma I really love you and then she said "if you don't stop talking like that I am going to cry.I said Grandma it's ok there is nothing you are leaving behind thats to hard for me to handle. I can take care of all of it for you.You see my grandma is an obsessive planner. She wrote her own obituary we still giggle about that. She wants everything to go according to plan. I have reminded her several times that she wont be attending her own funeral so it shouldn't matter that much. She disagrees. She then said to me I hope I get a chance before I go to talk to you and everyone else. I said Grandma now is as good a time as any please if you have something to say don't wait till its to late. She then told me that she had been seeing my Grandpa he passed 7 years ago. I said what did he say? She said he didn't say anything, she saw him and said "where are you going"? He was smiling and waved for her to follow and started walking away. Then turned back to look at her and waved again. I get chills just thinking about it. She said she see's him when she is awake and asleep. That he just keeps smiling at her. I told her that he is waiting on you Grandma he loves you. She then started crying. I hugged her tightly and told her how much she meant to me and that I didn't know what I would do without her. She said she was proud of me and that I was special. That God gave me to her as a special gift. She thanked me for taking such good care of her.We hugged and cried for a while and then she said she was tired so I told her goodnight and she said God willing I will see you again in the morning but if not I will see you in heaven. I told her I loved her one more time and she said thank you again and went to sleep.

She is in there right now having a rough time breathing we don't know how much time she may have left in this world but I feel a strange since of peace knowing that we told each other what we wanted to say and that she was herself for the first time in months if only for a short time she was really her my sweet loving Grandmother that I adore.

I thank God for this special gift he has given to me and I hope that he takes her home in peace.

It is hard to say goodbye.

Strive to be good !

Sometimes I wonder how people are so successful. They seem to have so many fans and people supporting them. I know that with my small business I am so grateful for the small things. The people who support me mean so much. I know they could go to a chain to have there pictures made but they choose to support me in my business instead. I try to offer a one of a kind type of session. I am new at all of this and it take practice to make perfect. Thank you for all who believe in my talent. I really love what I am able to do. I also really love making jewelry and one of a kind crafts. It is hard to compete on a high level and I have so much respect for the great photographers and artists out there. I want to pose a question what sets someone apart? Sometimes I wonder if it's popularity or talent driving the masses to these different businesses. I love looking at others pages and supporting them. I just feel like sometimes I am a very tiny fish in the huge ocean of talent. I want to build my business to something great. The purpose is to have my own thing. People are always wanting to be acknowledged as a basic human need to be heard and appreciated. I am no different. I just want to make a difference with what I love. I want to help people capture there special moments and memories. I have always had a passion for photos. I watched a movie once that says life is what happened between one happy snap shot and the next and I agree whole heartedly. We all strive to LIVE life to the fullest and the memories of the good times are what carry us through tragedy and heartbreak. They help us remember those we've lost. Keep up with milestones! I hope that I can keep getting better! I just want to give a huge thank you to all who support me in my passion !
